The Champions League Is Coming Back: Previews Can Start

Just like every other sports competition, even the 2019-2020 Champions League took a great hit due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is because of this reason that UEFA was forced to postpone all matches in March 2020.

The decision to postpone the club tournament was passed in mid-March. For the past 2 to 3 months, it was unsure when the matches would resume. But on June 17, UEFA announced that the Champions League is going to return in August. The tournament will be completed in a “final-eight” format.

Similarly, the Europa League will be played in the “final-eight” format across four German cities. However, the final match will be held in Cologne on August 21.

Now that the top leagues are coming back, one can start sports betting once again. The prediction for matches will also start. If you want to bet and make the most of it, then you should check out Sportytrader where you can follow the predictions made.

Aleksander Ceferin, the president of UEFA said that football is returning to more normal life in Europe. However, they are still not sure whether the public will be allowed to watch the matches or not.

Currently, sports in Europe are played behind closed doors. Not just that, but they are also following strict health guidelines. Ceferin also added, that no decision has been taken regarding whether the audience will be allowed in the stadium or not.

He also said that things are changing rapidly, so they are not sure what is going to happen ultimately. But for now, all they know is that no audience is going to attend the matches in the stadium.

He said, just a month before, it was difficult for him to even say if the tournaments will take place this year. But at least they are going to happen now.

The death toll has reduced in Europe which gives a ray of hope to everyone. This has also led the countries to open their borders for visitors to visit again. This gives us the hope that football matches will be played. Seeing the current situation, one can expect the matches to take place with spectators in the stadium.

Ceferin said that he is not sure whether they will allow just locals or fans from different countries or no fans.

Champions League 2020: Flagship Club Tournament

After the announcement made by UEFA, football fans are curious to know about the venue where the tournament will take place.

The Champions League 2020 tournament will be held in Lisbon in Portugal. The matches will be played by Estadio Jose Alvalade and Estadio da Luz.

Just so you know the finals of the Champions League 2020 are going to take place in the Estadio da Luz. Initially, the stadium Ataturk Olympic was booked in Istanbul. But due to coronavirus and other reasons, UEFA had to change their plans and now the venue is decided to be Estadio da Luz in Portugal.

When will the Champions League 2020 tournament will start?

Football fans are excited to have their favourite tournaments back. They are eager to know the dates when the matches will take place.

No Change Of Plans

The restrictions in Portugal is easing with time. Looking at the present condition, it is safe to say that there will be no further changes made in the plan. The Champions League will take place in August and that’s final for now.

Even Ceferin is confident about their decision. He said that for now things are going well and they are hoping it will get better by the time the date for the Champions League 2020 arrives. He also admitted that don’t have any plan B as they are continually monitoring the situation and it looks promising to them. They are assessing every little detail on a daily basis and are adapting according to it. So there is no need for having a Plan B or making any changes.
