The Burgos squad denounces the serious economic situation of the club

One of the surprise teams of Second Division B and with clear aspirations to go up to Second, Burgos, is living a very difficult situation off the field. The template with the support of the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) has denounced the serious economic situation that the club is going through.

The players have wanted to make public ldefaults by the owners, the Argentine Caselli family, not only to the staff but to the office staff, sports management, medical staff, coaching staff or the delegate. This lack of financial resources has caused no money for hotels, no coronavirus tests, no sports tools or even bottled water. The squad has stressed in the statement that they remain committed to what the club and the city represent and that they will fight to achieve the objectives. This is the statement published on the AFE website.

The first squad of soccer players of the Burgos Club de Fútbol SAD, with the support of the Association of Spanish Footballers, wants to make public the situation of extreme economic difficulty that the club has been going through for months as a result of the constant breaches by the owners .

For this reason, through this document we state that:

1. There are numerous defaults suffered by all club workers, from the players to the office staff, through the sports management, the medical staff, the coaching staff or the delegate. As of today, three monthly payments are owed to office workers and members of the sports department. It is not necessary to review the difficulties and uncertainty that defaults generate for both club members and their families, having reached an unsustainable situation to which the current owners have no solution.

2. The precarious economic situation of the club and the lack of payments to third parties directly affects the team's daily work, having had to stop using fundamental tools for sports management as their cost had not been met.

3. The total lack of resources has meant that it is not possible to meet day-to-day expenses as necessary as hotels when traveling or even obtaining the mandatory coronavirus tests that must be passed periodically thanks to the performance and dedication of the office workers. The situation has reached the point of having a shortage of bottled water and a supply of sports equipment as a result of defaults that have occurred to suppliers.

4. Both from the staff and from the coaching staff there have been numerous requests to the current owners to put an end to the situation that has dragged on for months, having obtained only promises that have not been kept. Therefore, we believe that this situation should be made public, both for the right of fans to know it and to try to find a solution.

5. Finally, we want to highlight our absolute commitment to what Burgos Football Club represents, the city of Burgos and all the fans. The problems manifested have been happening for months without affecting sports performance, given the professionalism of both the players and the coaching staff and other club workers. We can assure that we will continue to offer the maximum to achieve the objectives that lie ahead this season in order to safeguard the future of Burgos Club de Fútbol.
