The Broncos allegedly let captain Kareem Jackson go on Christmas after he was suspended several times for illegal hits.

Multiple stories say that the Broncos dropped Kareem Jackson on Monday. This came a day after the experienced safety didn’t play in Denver’s loss to the Patriots on Christmas Eve.

Jackson has already been suspended several times this season for illegal hits, so this decision comes after those.

He could have come back from a four-game sentence against the Patriots, but he wasn’t on the active squad. The Broncos had until Monday to either bring him back or let him go.

Several sources say that they want to re-sign Jackson with the practice team if he clears waivers.

Denver can now focus on its current players on its roster, but there is still a chance that it might bring back a respected defense captain on the practice squad.

He had been fined before for hitting Washington Commanders tight ends Logan Thomas as well as Las Vegas Raiders wide Jakobi Meyers in a way that wasn’t allowed.

The NFL banned Jackson for four games after he came back because Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs hit him helmet-to-helmet without permission. He had just come back from a ban three snaps before that hit.

Jackson lost his appeal of the ban, so he missed games toward the Detroit Lions, the Cleveland Browns, and the Houston Texans.

In his place, P.J. Locke, an experienced player in his fourth season, has become Denver’s starting strong safety.

“I was told that I’m in charge of protecting the offensive guys,” Jackson told ESPN at an event for charity after the second suspension.

“So, I’m not sure how I can keep myself safe, make plays, and keep them safe too.” I’m not sure what to do next to keep playing this game.

Jackson worked out for the Nuggets last week. Before the game against the Patriots, head coach Sean Payton told reporters about Jackson’s situation, “we’ll figure out how the team is going to handle it.”

Monday, the NFL suspended Denver Broncos back Kareem Jackson to four games without pay for an additional illegal hit to the head, which got him thrown out for the second time this season.

Jackson will have to pay back about $589, 000 in lost wages because he hit Green Bay Packers tight ends Luke Musgrave hard in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 19–17 win. Jackson was called for unnecessary roughness and fired.

That happened just 24 hours after the league said Jackson would be fined $43,709 for hitting Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco without signaling for it in Denver’s loss to Kansas City in Week 6.

He has now been fined $89,670 for the season, and he will have to pay another one for his hit on Musgrave. The fines Jackson got for being too rough in the first three games in the season added up to $45,961.

The NFL’s vice president in football operations, Jon Runyan, gave the ban on Monday because the player broke the league’s rules about unnecessary roughness. It was against the rules for you to touch your opponent, but you decided not to.

I sent Jackson a letter in which he said, “You hit an unprotected receiver in the head or neck with force when you had enough time and space to avoid making contact.”

In Week 2, Jackson was also kicked out of Denver’s 35–33 loss to Washington because he hit Commanders tight end Logan Thomas illegally.

This happened just one week after Jackson hit Raiders receiver Jakobi Meyers illegally. Meyers and Thomas both got concussions during the plays.
