The Breogán embitters the return of Musa to Lugo and the Unicaja enjoys in Granada

MADRID, 8 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Río Breogán won Real Madrid 96-72 this Saturday and thus embittered the return of Dzanan Musa to Lugo, in a match corresponding to the 26th round of the Endesa League, where they also highlighted the triumph of Unicaja in their visit to Granada (69-101) and the local victories of Obradoiro over UCAM Murcia (81-79) and Casademont Zaragoza against Gran Canaria (76-73).

The return of Musa with another jersey to Pazo dos Deportes, almost a year after being chosen as MVP of the regular season in the ACB League, augured an afternoon of emotions and the local team channeled that better. Not surprisingly, Breogán was only behind on the scoreboard in the first minutes, quickly turning the situation around until the first quarter finished 21-12 up.

The Merengue team approached by the hand of Gabi Deck and Musa himself, reaching halftime 39-34 below and only one point away (42-41) at the beginning of the third period. It was then that the best choral work of the Lugo short-circuited Real Madrid, until they signed a 25-6 (67-47) run.

In tow, and without Edy Tavares for the fourth period after being disqualified for a double technique, Chus Mateo’s pupils no longer found a way to close the gap and even came close to a greater punishment (79-54, 95-70). With 21 wins and five losses, Madrid would lose the lead if Barça wins this Sunday (5:00 p.m.) on their visit to Bilbao Basket.

For its part, Breogán was left with a balance of 13-13 to stalk the ‘playoffs’ and maintain their fight with ‘Obra’ (12-14), who beat UCAM in a duel where they came back at the start but were in a hurry in the final bars. Of course, they handled the decisive minutes well and left the Murcian team in the middle of the table (balance of 10-16).

UNICAJA WINS THE ANDALUSIAN DERBI AGAINST GRANADA

In a worse situation is Covirán Granada (balance of 8-18), much inferior in its match this day against Unicaja. Thanks to 14 points from Tyson Carter and another 14 goals from Tyler Kalinoski, the Malaga club forged a good result without having its captain Alberto Díaz, who recently injured an ankle.

Balance of 17-9 for Unicaja, consolidated in fifth place in the League and benefited from the ‘in extremis’ defeat of Gran Canaria in the Príncipe Felipe Pavilion in Zaragoza. A few days after facing Bursaspor in the round of 16 of the Eurocup, the ‘pío-pío’ conceded an untimely defeat in their league aspiration, even wasting a three-pointer from Andrew Albicy to win.
