MADRID, 6 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals, which will be held at La Cartuja in Seville from November 7 to 12, will break the record for cash prizes for participants and winners, equivalent to the cash prizes awarded in the Davis Cup Finals 2023.

With the support of title sponsor Gainbridge, the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Seville will offer an “unprecedented” $9.6 million in prize money for female players.

In addition, the members of the champion team will receive a record amount of 2.4 million dollars, as part of the ‘Advantage All’ program of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to boost the value of the women’s game.

This year’s record financial award will be distributed as follows: 2.4 million euros for the world champion team, 1.44 million for the finalists, $960,000 for the players of the semi-finalist teams and $480,000 for those teams that do not make it past the group stage.

ITF President David Haggerty said he was “proud” to announce these record numbers. “Achieving gender parity in our sport is a key part of the ITF’s ‘Advantage All’ programme, and I am delighted that we will be able to offer Davis Cup-equivalent prize money again this year,” he said.

“We are very grateful to our title sponsor, Gainbridge, for helping us make this possible and for their continued support as we continue to build on the recent growth of the Women’s Tennis World Cup,” he added.

For his part, the CEO and president of Group 1001 – Gainbridge’s parent company -, Dan Towriss, assured that the company is committed to women’s sports and is delighted to contribute to the financial endowment of the Finals prizes. Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge are equivalent to those of the Davis Cup. “I’m looking forward to seeing a great competition and delivering the biggest check in the history of the event to the winning team,” he noted.
