The Billie Jean King Cup Finals are presented in Seville as “a unique competition”

The Billie Jean King Cup Finals had their presentation event this Wednesday in Seville, where from November 7 to 12 the Women’s Tennis World Cup will be put into play, with 12 teams, including Spain, in search of the title.

“It is a unique event, at an international level, in which more than 130 countries participate every year and in Seville we will have the 12 that have qualified to compete for the title of World Champions. The Billie Jean King Cup Finals contribute to giving notoriety to women’s sports and places tennis as a leading sport among women,” said the tournament director, Conchita Martínez.

Seville will host the competition in a Cartuja Stadium which, for the occasion, will build two covered tennis courts inside. In addition, there will be three indoor training courts, all Rebound Ace fast surfaces. The public will be able to enjoy activities, learn about the latest tennis products and a varied gastronomic offer in the Fan Zone.

The Real Club Pineda de Sevilla hosted the presentation of the Finals in which Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Spain, United States, Switzerland, Australia and Poland are included, with group stage, semifinals and final of the formerly called Federation Cup.

The competition wanted to bring its values ​​closer to ten women who represent everything that these Finals promote, amateur tennis players of different levels, and taking advantage of the fact that tickets are already on sale, each of them were given a ticket with where you can enjoy the best women’s tennis in the world throughout the week.

Furthermore, from 2022, thanks to the arrival of a new global sponsor, Gainbridge, the winners of these Finals receive the same financial compensation as the players who compete in the Davis Cup Finals. “This symbolic act that we carry out today aims, from simplicity, to bring this world event closer to all audiences who follow tennis and women’s sports with passion,” said Conchita.

“Despite it being a World Cup, we want anyone to feel able to belong to this event and to come and enjoy the best tennis players. In no other competition will you feel so close to them, helping them achieve their goal,” he added.

In addition, the ticket delivery ceremony was attended by José María Arrabal, general secretary for Sports of the Junta de Andalucía. “Together with Córdoba and Málaga, we will be able to boast that all the eyes of tennis fans worldwide are directed to the Community, with all that this implies of responsibility, but also of promotion of the Andalusia brand and for the impact that these sporting events will generate in our land, and in this case in Seville and its entire surroundings,” he noted.

“The Andalusian Government is committed to women’s sports as it could not be otherwise, with events like this of course, and many others that we sponsor throughout the year; with programs that promote equality between men and women in sports; and also, as provided in our Sports Law, promoting the participation of women in Andalusian sports federations,” she added.
