MADRID 2 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) and Billie Jean King Cup Ltd have confirmed this Wednesday that the total prize money that will be offered to national teams competing in the finals of the Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge 2024 from 13 to 20 November will be 9.6 million dollars (8.6 million euros).

According to the official statement, the 2024 world champions will receive $2,400,000 to be distributed among the team members. Meanwhile, the finalists will take 1,400,000, the teams that reach the semifinals will receive 960,000; and 520,000 and 450,000 for those who fall in the quarterfinals and first round.

“The ITF Advantage All program aims for gender equality and we are pleased to offer equivalent prize money at the Billie Jean King Cup Finals and Davis Cup Finals for the third consecutive year. As always, we thank sponsor Gainbridge of the Billie Jean King Cup, for their support in making this possible,” said ITF President David Haggerty.

For Conchita Martínez, tournament director of the Billie Jean King Cup Finals and five-time Billie Jean King Cup champion, “representing your nation in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals is a great achievement.” “We are delighted to have a generous player prize money that allows us to reward all players who participate in the Finals. We thank all our sponsors and partners for their support of the Billie Jean King Cup and women’s tennis in general “he noted.

“Gainbridge is committed to women’s sport and we are delighted to help ensure that the prize money for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals is once again equivalent to that of the Davis Cup Finals. This year, as part of our celebration of Parity Week, we are also investing in the future of women’s sports by creating opportunities for the next generation of female athletes,” said Dan Towriss, CEO and president of Group 1001, Gainbridge’s parent company.

The Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge is part of Parity Week. Gainbridge, Parity and the Women’s Sports Foundation award $150,000 in grants to organizations supporting girls and women through sport and education. The initiative is inspired by Billie Jean King.
