The Bernabéu plays again

Real Madrid expects a Santiago Bernabéu at the height of the appointment for tomorrow from 9:00 p.m. The result of the first leg of the quarterfinals at Chelsea (1-3) subtracts the emotional component from the match, but from Madrid they do not trust and want an atmosphere similar to the one that was already seen against PSG in the round of 16.

So the team was obliged to come back from a 1-0 defeat in the first leg, and the ritual was fulfilled from start to finish: The team was received in the Plaza de Sagrados Corazones and there was not a free seat to watch the duel against Messi, Mbappé and company. A clash that began with disappointment, after Mbappé’s 0-1, and that flared up in the second half with Benzema’s hat-trick in just over a quarter of an hour.

The idea is to repeat the atmosphere, although in Madrid they know that the context is everything and that, in this case, the team does not need heroics to advance to the semifinals. It is enough to endure the result of the first leg. There is a call through social networks for a meeting in Sacred Hearts starting at 7:00 p.m. to receive the teamalthough the virality of this ad has been minimal, at least for now.

Ancelotti, Rodrygo, Lucas Vazquez…

From the locker room appeals have been made to the fans to mobilize for the match against Chelsea; At the moment they are shy, they will probably go to more as the meeting approaches. Ancelotti wrote on his Twitter after 1-3 in the first leg: “We have taken an important first step in the tie, but the Bernabéu remains. We need you all there!”. Rodrygo, assistant in the 2-0 against Getafe, uploaded a video of himself during that duel and added: “See you on Tuesday!” And Lucas Vázquez, the author of that same goal, added: “At the Bernabéu you make it easier. See you on Tuesday!”.

What is certain is that there will not be a free seat. After the latest modifications of the works, the capacity has remained at 61,000 seats; yesterday afternoon there were less than 200 for sale, although members can still release their subscriptions. Against Barça there was already a sellout, but the atmosphere was not what was expected; on weekends tourists abound, which lowers the intensity. Madrid expects a Bernabéu like against PSG, when he carried the team to this great date with Chelsea.
