The Belgian Lampaert, first leader of the Tour after the Copenhagen time trial

MADRID, 1 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Belgian cyclist Yves Lampaert (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) took the first stage of the 2022 Tour de France, a 13-kilometre time trial through the streets of Copenhagen, with heavy favorite Tadej Pogacar (UAE) seven seconds behind.

Lampaert, with an average of 51.8 kilometers per hour, won the start of the gala round in the Danish capital with a time of 15:17, to be the first yellow jersey. The current two-time champion, the Slovenian Pogacar, was the best of the favourites, third, while the Belgian Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma) was second, five seconds behind his compatriot.
