The Barça walks in front of the ASVEL

Those of ‘Saras’ live an unusual placid Euroleague day to stretch the momentum of the Clásico

MADRID, 27 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Barça won placidly (84-71) this Thursday over ASVEL Villeurbanne on matchday 23 of the Euroleague, an unusual quiet day that was never in danger at the Palau Blaugrana, to regain sensations in the competition and see themselves at the top .

Sarunas Jasikevicius’ men started with a 10-2 scoreline and the advantage was installed at 20 points in the final stretch. The culé team did not give an option to surprise, despite the fact that at times he relaxed. After three defeats in four games, the Catalan team took a step forward in the fight for the lead (17-5).

In a highly rotated Barça, Mirotic (16 points and 7 rebounds), Laprovittola (20 points) and Davies stood out. Those of ‘Saras’ did not need to push and they did need a motivated wardrobe that was sinking an ASVEl far from their version of the first days. After Sunday’s victory in the Clasico, Barça equals Real Madrid at the top of the Euroleague.

The culé team was successful and looked superior, something that their coach would not like, especially because they let themselves go, but that was the reality. Mirotic, Laprovittola and Nnaji made a difference in this good local start and the changes maintained the level. Higgins and Jokubaitis forced the Gauls further.

With the war a bit of each on their own, Fall gave the Catalans the first problems and in the second quarter, some turnovers and Okobo’s triples gave ASVEl at least a role in the film. It was very secondary, since Barça managed the rhythm, the points, the rebound, everything with rotation and comfort.

In the third quarter the culé team put the direct and, although ASVEL resisted, they fattened that twenty mattress that left a last partial without history. ‘Saras’ gave minutes to the less usual and Barça resolved without breaking a sweat to feel strong again while recovering their best version, injured and affected by COVID, the last Sanli.
