The Barça subsidiary signs the captain of Espanyol B

It was an open secret that already came to light in May: Ferran Jutglà, Espanyol B captain, would not renew his contract and would sign for Barcelona B. At that time the news was advanced by Onda Cero and later expanded by AS , in which it was highlighted that the blue and white striker had a meeting pending with the sports management to discuss his situation, but that it seemed that the outcome of the chess game was already sung. And this Tuesday, the player has been officially presented as a new Barça reinforcement.

The president of Barça, Joan Laporta, has been the master of ceremonies. Jutglà signs for one season with an option for another and will play in a category higher than Espanyol B, in the First RFEF. The striker has scored 12 goals in the 50 official matches he has played in Second B. This season he has finished with five, seven from the previous one. His clause will be 50 million, extendable to 100 if he makes his debut with the first team.

Jutglà arrived at Espanyol in the 2012-13 season and since then he has established himself as a promising footballer who has been overcoming stages with a loan in between. He settled in the subsidiary and became captain due to his longevity in the club, but from the sports management they did not consider that he had such a projection as to consolidate in the first team. So at least they witnessed it from the footballer's environment.

The departure of Jutglà in this case does not open any battle between the two entities, since the player ends his contract, does not renew and signs for another club. There is still, as every year, the transfer of homegrown players between both entities, especially the boys who by age cannot legally have a contract. In this regard, the sports director, Francisco Rufete, commented in a recent interview with AS that “Espanyol has a project and has a lot to say.
