The Balearic Health Department files a file against the organizers of its latest denialist act

Miguel Bosé is facing mounting legal problems. On Friday, the Es Molí des Comte estate welcomed more than 900 people to listen to him and Josep Pamiés at a conference entitled Freedom of expression and therapeutic freedom, in which they defended barbarities such as curing autism and AIDS with bleach. The College of Physicians and the Department of Health denounced the ‘denialist’ act, far from achieving results. However, on Saturday, the Inspection Service of the Balearic Department of Health opened a file against the organizers of the event for spreading ‘false’ information about treatments without scientific evidence.

It should be noted that the Amante Bandido singer also poured out all kinds of conspiracy theories about Covid-19 and vaccines in his talk, along with Pamiés, a horticulturist and president of the Dulce Revolución association, who has already been sanctioned on several occasions by the Balearic Medical Association.

The Ministry has announced that an investigation will be carried out to determine whether or not an administrative sanction will be imposed on the organising entity, Dulce Revolución. Furthermore, they add that if during such investigation, indications of an alleged crime against public health are determined, the case will be transferred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

They thus warn of the danger and harmful effects that can be caused by pseudotherapeutic practices, which were spread at Miguel Bosé’s denialist event. In fact, they remind us that there is a Health Protection Plan for People against Pseudotherapies from the Ministries of Health and Science and Innovation, which seek to provide true and rigorous information to citizens in order to differentiate between practices with the aim of curing or treating diseases.

During the event, the artist declared himself “proudly a denialist” and claimed to be on the side of the ‘truth’: “Those on the other side are scared of traditional forms of medicine because it is an area that is growing every day, due to its effects and the belief that to cure stomach pain, a mixture of fennel, chamomile and stevia does not kill.”
