The bad athletic start causes a plunge in its price

Atlético is paying for its bad start to the championship. The rojiblanco team accumulates four consecutive defeats in the League, is out of the Champions League positions and has lost 18 points with respect to this same moment of the last championship, where he ended up being proclaimed champion.

And the worst start to a full season of the Cholo era is also affected by the price of its players. Transfermarkt has carried out an update on the value of LaLiga players and Atlético is the team that comes off the worst, since 14 of its footballers fall in their status and no one rises, causing a decrease of almost 100 million in the workforce calculation.

If at the beginning of the season Atlético was the team that ruled in the competition’s ideal eleven, it has only had two members: João Félix and Griezmann. The Portuguese falls again in its price, going down from 70 to 60 million. A problem that comes from afar, since two years ago it was established by the page specialized in 100 million. In goal, Oblak’s losing streak, entering 2022 as the goalkeeper with the worst save percentage in the competition, has cost him a similar decline, from 70 to 60 million to stop being for the first time in years the most valuable goalkeeper of the tournament (Courtois surpasses him with 65). The Slovenian also recently reached 100, the only goalkeeper in history to do so.

Injuries and the needs of the defensive team have meant that Marcos Llorente has had to focus on acting as a winger or right lane. Their numbers have suffered and the ’14’ passes dand 80 to 60 million contributions, ceasing to be the most expensive Spaniard (he was at the top tied with Pedri). Koke falls from 60 million in value to 40 and Giménez falls from 60 to 50, the other two footballers with a more pronounced fall. On the next step are Savic (20), Hermoso (30), Lodi (20) and Luis Suárez (10), all of them with a loss of five million.

And behind are the cases of Trippier (from 20 to 18), Herrera (from 7 to 5), Lecomte (from 9 to 7.5), Felipe (9 to 8) and Saponjic (from 0.9 to 0.8). In the most ‘positive’ section, there are the eight footballers whose value remains immovable. Griezmann (50), De Paul (40), Lemar (40), Carrasco (40), Correa (40), Cunha (30), Kondogbia (15) and Vrsaljko (5), remain as they were in the last recalibration. Of course, Atlético is aware that managing to refloat the situation will also affect the next estimates on the value of the squad. It is still early to give a note and there is a long season ahead.
