The Australian Open reveals its calendar for 2022

Australia will once again be the epicenter of world tennis at the start of the 2022 season next January. Tennis Australia has unveiled the calendar this Thursday of the tournaments that will be held in the country and that will culminate in the dispute of the first Grand Slam of the year: the Australian Open.

The calendar will start on New Years Day with the start of the ATP Cup, which will bring together several of the great figures of world tennis defending the colors of their respective countries from January 1 to 9 in Sydney. During the tournament, other tennis players will be able to compete in the tournament Adelaida International 1 WTA 500 and ATP 250 (January 2-9) or at the Bendigo and Traralgon Women’s Challenger or ITF tournaments, as well as the ATP and WTA 250 tournaments to be held in Melbourne from January 3-9 and the Victoria Open chair tennis (January 8-12).

Tennis won’t stop there, as From January 9 to 15, the Sidney Tennis Classic, WTA 500 and ATP 250 tournament will be held, while on the same dates the Adelaide International 2, ATP and WTA 250 tournament, as the last prelude before the Australian Open.

The Australian Grand Slam will officially begin on January 10 with the dispute of the preliminary phase, which will last until the 14th and that will coincide with the ITF Junior Traralgon (January 12-19) and the Melbourne chair tennis tournament (January 15-19). Although if there is a date that all tennis players have marked in red on their calendar, that is on January 17, when the Australian Open begins on the slopes of Melbourne Park, which will run for two weeks until January 30, when we will know who is the winner of the first Grand Slam of the season.
