LONDON, 16 Feb. (PA Media / DPA / EP) –
The Augusta Masters will present changes in the 2022 edition thanks to a record length of 6,867 meters after two holes were extended, specifically numbers 11 and 15, the American tournament reported.
The length of the 11th hole has been increased from exactly 462 to 475.5 meters, while the 15th hole has been increased from 484.6 to 503 meters.
This means the 11th hole is already longer than the 13th hole, a hole that could get longer in the future after Augusta National purchased land from the adjacent Augusta Country Club in 2017.
The 86th edition of the Masters will take place from April 7-10, with Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama set to defend his title.
