The attendance limit for Europa League matches drops to 600 spectators

The Basque Government, through its Minister of Health, Gotzone
Sagardui, has announced a new package of measures with the aim of reducing the spread of the pandemic that includes, among other things, the limitation of the capacity of outdoor shows. The limit of attendees goes from 1,000 to 600, a reduction that will affect the matches played by Real at home in the Europa League, starting with that of next Thursday, October 29 against Naples (9:00 p.m.). The measure will come into force in the next few days when it is published through an order in the Official Gazette of the Basque Country, after ratification by the Superior Court of Justice of the Basque Country.

These measures are framed in a context of transmission of the virus “on the rise” and fully affect the European debut of the Real in Anoeta. The txuri urdin club had planned to host 1,000 fans in its stadium to shelter the team, but finally there will only be a maximum of 600. The evolution of the pandemic will mark what happens in the next continental commitments. La Real hosts AZ Alkmaar on November 5 (6:55 p.m.) and Rijeka on December 3 (9:00 p.m.).

In this sense, the Minister of Health savior
Illa he ruled against public attendance at stadiums. “Right now it is expendable,” he said in an interview with RAC-1. “Seeing how the situation is, we can leave it for later. At this time it is not prudent, “he said. However, in the case of Real matches in the Europa League, the competition corresponds to UEFA, which allows 30% attendance of local fans, and the Basque Government, which reduces that figure to 600 fans who finally he will be able to go, except for new variations, to the match against Naples.

Among the measures adopted by the Ministry of Health related to sport, the limit of fans who may attend an event behind closed doors drops to 400, while non-federated sport is suspended.
