The arid calendar of Cádiz

In the absence of ten days to go, there is nothing decided by the bottom of the table. Six teams are the ones that are immersed in the fight for salvation: Levante, Alavés and Cádiz, currently in relegation places; and Granada, Mallorca and Getafe, in the danger zone. Of all of them maybe Cádiz the one that arrives at the best moment to the final stretch of the season, with nine points harvested in the last seven days (since Sergio González came to the bench). But as we say, with ten days to go, it’s time to do the math and assess the calendars of the teams that struggle to escape from the burning.

Direct duels will be key. Of all of them, it is Alavés is the team that has the most ‘finals for salvation’ between now and the end of the League. The Basques will face four of the five rivals: Granada and Cádiz, at home; and Mallorca and Levante, out. Four direct duels that can decide many things. This coupled with from the top of the table will only face two teams (Atletico, away; and Villarreal, at home) they make the schedule of the babazorros the easiest (a priori) of the teams involved.

On the other hand, Getafe and Cádiz have the most complicated schedules. As always and on paper, because of the position occupied by these teams. Both people from Madrid and Cadiz have a single direct duel. In the case of the former, they will play with Mallorca (home), on matchday 30; while the latter will visit Alavés on the penultimate day. The difficulty is in the duels against the teams fighting for Europe. Cádiz faces seven of the top eight. Villarreal, Betis, Athletic and Real Madrid come to Mirandilla and the yellows will also visit Barça and Sevilla. For its part, Getafe, has five duels with the top of the table, Villarreal, Betis and Barça, at home and Athletic and Real Madrid, away.
