The Spanish American Football Federation (FEFA) approved a new organizational chart to “promote” Flag Football in order to “play a good role” in the Los Angeles 2028 Games and to “do its homework” so that this sport “definitely takes off” in Spain, according to a statement issued this Tuesday.
“We must take advantage of these next five years to promote Flag in our country. It is not just about wanting to qualify and do a good job at the Los Angeles Games, but about knowing how to play our cards so that, if in 2029 We are no longer Olympic, we have done all our homework so that this sport has definitely taken off,” said the president of the FEFA, José Luis Soler.
The entity approved a new organizational chart to “prepare with guarantees the competitions” of 2024 and “lay solid foundations for the next four years”, with Los Angeles 2028 on the horizon. In this new structure, in addition to the sports aspect, areas such as health, marketing, social networks or Flag Inclusive are also included.
“I must thank the altruistic support of great professionals, from Flag and other disciplines, so that we can start this project with guarantees. Also to the CSD for its full support. This Thursday, the first concentration of the senior national teams, both men and women, will take place at the El Cantizal Sports Center in Las Rozas in preparation for the World Cup in Finland, which will be held from August 27 to 30.
“We have great players, capable of competing with guarantees. The women’s team has just been proclaimed European runners-up last year, having been champion in 2019,” recalled Soler, who also highlighted the “talent” of the men’s team, which He wished “a little luck to demonstrate all the potential they have.”
