The AFE presents ‘I am one of those’, a solidarity song to help in the investigation of ALS

The Association of Spanish Soccer Players presented this Monday the solidarity song ‘I am one of those’, the work of ex-soccer player Ximo Miralles and his group ‘Dorsal 31’, and the proceeds from which will be donated to FUNDELA (Spanish Foundation for the Promotion of Sclerosis Research amyotrophic side).

Footballers and former footballers such as Rodri Hernández, Pau Torres, Hugo Guillamón, David Aganzo, Andrés Iniesta, Salma Paralluelo, David Villa, Marco Asensio, Andrea Medina, Pepe Reina, Fernando Torres, Álvaro Morata, Eva Navarro have collaborated in the video clip of the song. or Jesus Navas.

The presentation of ‘Yo soy de aqueellos’ was attended by David Aganzo, president of AFE, Rodri Hernández, soccer player for the Spanish national team and Manchester City, Maite Solas, vice president of FUNDELA, Maribel Matallanas, spokesperson for FUNDELA, and Álvaro Benito, former soccer player and singer who has collaborated in this video.

“This is a special day because there are very special people in this act. We present a song made from the heart and in the name of friendship, a wonderful song made by friends with the aim of transmitting the values ​​of footballers and, what is more importantly, to help FUNDELA. Friends are here to help and it has been shown that people in the world of sport always want to help, it highlights the good hearts of footballers”, celebrated Aganzo.

For his part, the author of the song, Ximo Miralles acknowledged that, due to a professional football failure, he began “to write song lyrics” and that “chasing dreams makes you meet wonderful people.” In this sense, he thanked Rodri Hernández for his involvement and that “he did not hesitate to participate” when he proposed it. “For me he is the best in the world in his position, but he is an even better person,” he said.

“It is tremendous to present the song at the soccer player’s house to help FUNDELA. I got goosebumps when I saw Carlos Matallanas as the image of the song and with it it is about giving visibility to this disease and hence the importance of the media , to raise awareness in society,” he added.

Rodri Hernández confessed that he will take the song to Qatar where he will fulfill “an incredible dream.” “I value Ximo Miralles a lot because he always achieves everything he sets out to do. I like to get involved in charitable causes because I want to give back to society everything he has given me with football. I have contributed my grain of sand in a very nice job, I try to reach people,” he stressed.

For her part, Maribel Matallanas, mother of the journalist Carlos Gómez Matallanas, who died of this disease in 2021, and ambassador of FUNDELA, confessed that the song had “moved her a lot” and that there were no “words to summarize” her emotion. “If Carlos were here today he would be singing this song. I thank Ximo and AFE for having carried out this project,” she stressed.
