The 22 New Balance stores in Spain and Portugal go into liquidation with discounts of up to 70% from next Monday

New Balance will close in the coming weeks, probably before the end of the Christmas campaign, its physical stores in Spain and Portugal, which add up to a total of 22 stores, it indicates Servimedia. The liquidation of the stores will mean that during the next few days the prices of the stock existing in establishments have significant discounts.

During this week the liquidation on all products is set with discounts of between 40% and 50%, and from next Monday, January 3, discounts will reach 70% in all stores.

However, it could be a non-final goodbye. As reported Europa Press, the sports firm operates in our country through its partner Experience, with which it is in dispute over the breaking of the supply contract in October. Additionally, Experience’s license agreement with New Balance expires on December 31.

New Balance, which has stressed that it has no responsibility for the business decisions taken by Experience during the relationship, such as financing, opening or closing stores in the national market, does not rule out opening its own stores by 2022.

New Balance stores are now on the main commercial arteries, in shopping centers and outlets. In fact, during 2021 and despite the impact of the pandemic, New Balance Spain opted for a growth strategy by opening two new stores in Madrid, specifically in Fuencarral street in June, in Jorge Juan street, one of the the most luxurious in the capital, in September, and in the central Marqués del Puerto in Bilbao in May.

The liquidation of the stores will affect, among others, those located in the main cities such as Gran Vía, Fuencarral and Jorge Juan in Madrid, in addition to the outlets of Las Rozas Village, San Sebastián de los Reyes and Getafe ; that of Rambla Cataluña in Barcelona; Comte de Salvatierra in Valencia, Marqués del Puerto in Bilbao, those of Porto and Lisbon; or those located in ‘outlets’ such as in Seville or Coruña.
