The AAthletic of Madrid announced this Thursday the hiring of the Danish footballer Daniel Wass, from Valencia, and who has signed a contract for the remainder of this season and another, with which he will be linked to the red and white entity until June 2023.
Wass, a versatile player with extensive experience in Spanish football, which he joined in July 2015 when he signed for Celta de Vigor, it is the versatile reinforcement with which Atlético intends to solve the loss of English right-back Kieran Trippier, transferred to Newcastle on January 7 after two and a half seasons with rojiblanco.
With the ability to play as a pivot, right midfielder and right back, Wass accumulates 224 games in LaLiga in which he has scored 16 goals and distributed 31 assists, and 32 games in the Copa del Rey, with three goals and two assists in his record. In addition, he has played twice in the Champions League, both times with the Valencia, and the Europa League twice, once with the Celtic and another with Valencia.
The Danish soccer player, who could be seen on Thursday morning in the vicinity of the red and white offices in the stadium Wanda Metropolitano, as several television channels revealed, he has already passed the medical examination with the rojiblanco team, so he is ready to join training.
Valencia has confirmed the agreement with the Atletico Madrid “for the transfer of Daniel Wass“, according to the statement on the official website of the Valencian team, which wishes him “luck in this new stage”.
