Terzic doesn't trust Sevilla: “It won't be easy, we have to play better than in the first leg”

Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzic said Monday that it will not be easy to qualify for the Champions League quarterfinals against Sevilla, despite a 2-3 away win in the first leg.

“It will not be easy. We knew from the beginning that two good games were needed, ”said Terzic, recalling last season's experience when, after a home win in the first leg, Dortmund were eliminated in the second leg by PSG.

“We suffer firsthand from the fact that just a good game is not enough. Sevilla is also going to show another face and play better. That's why we have to play better than in Seville ”, he added.

Terzic downplayed the fact that Sevilla are not getting the results in their last presentations and recalled that this was the same situation for Dortmund before the first leg.

“They are in a phase where the results are not very good. But the same thing happened with us before the game in Seville. I hope that Sevilla shows a reaction similar to the one we had, ”he assured.

On the other hand, Terzic reiterated that he hopes that Erling Haaland will be on the field tomorrow after returning to training today after he had left the field with a blow to the heel in the game against Bayern on Saturday.

“He (Haaland) always gives 100 percent and you have to take care of him. I'd rather not play a game for a few minutes than lose it for weeks, “he said to explain the change in the game against Bayern.

Also Thorgan Hazard, about whom there were slight doubts, may be there tomorrow, while Terzic confirmed the loss of Jadon Sancho and left a margin of hope for Raphael Guerreiro and Giovanni Reyna.

“We won't have Jadon for a while. With Gio and Rapha things can go faster. We will see if they can be in the call tomorrow ”, he said.

Terzic said that the team had analyzed Saturday's game, in which Dortmund lost 4-2 to Bayern, and then had focused on preparing for the match against Sevilla that they want to face with the same mentality and aggressiveness of the Going match.

“We have a great game ahead of us, we want to go to the second round and for this we have to start like in Seville with a healthy aggressiveness,” he said.
