Ter Stegen, successfully operated: two and a half months off

Marc André Ter Stegen this morning underwent a thorough cleaning of the patellar tendon in his right knee carried out by the team headed by Ramon Cugat. During the surgical intervention it was found that the condition of the tendon was not as serious as expected, taking just over an hour and a quarter to complete the operation. The good news is that finally the player will be less time off than expected. At first there was talk of three to four months off, but finally it will be two and a half months, as the club announced in a brief medical statement.

That means that the German goalkeeper will not reappear until the beginning of November, so he will surely miss the first days of LaLiga. This situation will force Ronald Koeman to rethink the needs of in the goal, since He will have to start his Blaugrana adventure with the Brazilian Neto and with the goalkeepers of the subsidiary Iñaki Peña and Arnau Tenas.

Ter Stegen will also have to wait a few months to sign his long-awaited renewal since the need to do “a deep restructuring in the first team”, as the club announced this Monday in a statement, will force managers to prioritize exits and incorporations right now, rather than raising the continuity of any of the important pieces of equipment.
