“Tense” and “uncomfortable”: Hugh Grant’s interview at the Oscars goes viral

It became one of the anecdotes of the night and one of the strangest and most tense interviews in the history of the red carpet (orange, this year). The actor Hugh Grant stopped to chat with Ashley Grahamin charge of receiving the guests of the night, artichoke in hand, and the attitude of the interpreter of Four Weddings and a Funeral has gone around the world: “What a crack”.

The model received Grant at the gala of the Oscar 2023 with a splendid smile: “What is your favorite thing about the Oscars?” he asked. “Well, ehhh… Ahhhh… Well, it’s fascinating. All of humanity is here. It’s the Vanity Fair,” the actor replied. “What are you most excited to see tonight?” Ahsley asked again. “To see?” Grant wondered. “Yeah, I’m assuming you’ve seen the nominated films. Do you have a favorite? Do you want to see someone succeed tonight?” “No, the truth”, settled he, very dry.

Graham continued: “What are you wearing tonight?” “My suit,” he said. “But I guess you didn’t do it,” the reporter tried. “I don’t remember the name of my tailor.” “Okay, shout out to the tailor anyway,” Ahsley surrendered.

The straw that broke the camel’s back was the question about her latest project: “What did it feel like to participate in Glass Onion? I love thrillers, this one is particularly fun,” the top rallied. “Well, I’m only out for three seconds,” he mumbled. “And were those three seconds fun?” she insisted. “Almost”. Ashley finally snapped, “Well, it’s been nice chatting with you. Thanks.” The face with which he said goodbye was a whole poem.

One minute and fifteen seconds that have gone viral on social networks and have caused a barrage of comments, from Graham’s professionalism to Grant’s insouciance, to the absurdity of the questions.

It’s part of Hugh Grant’s job to go to the Oscars, he was presenting an award.

It’s not your job to contribute to the stupidity surrounding the ceremony.
