Tenerife obtains an important victory against a Rayo that deserved more

CD Tenerife obtained an important victory against a good team such as Rayo Vallecano, which made the most of it for not leaving the capital of Tenerife empty.

The simple presence of Rayo in the Heliodoro was a demanding test for a renewed Tenerife, and not precisely because of the potential that, a priori, the Madrid team is presupposed, but also because of seeing the insular team's gear after the arrival of its last reinforcement.

From the initial moments it was possible to see how the Vallecano gear offered better performance on the pitch, by exercising greater control over the island team, which could only get rid of this power after the first twenty minutes of play had elapsed, although without seeing his goal in danger.

In this way, a match was balanced that, although it showed a fairly intense phase until the end of this first half, completely lacked scoring chances in both goals, with the only exception being a high shot from Comesaña in this final stretch.

At the resumption, both teams wanted to emulate the intense struggle of the last minutes of the first period, but this time the continuous interruptions, especially after the turnovers, slightly diminished the intensity with which the players were used.

As time passed and the fatigue caused and its effect the clearest occasions were produced, first Comesaña tried again, but ran into Ortolá, while a rebound from the other goalkeeper, from Morro, finished him off to goal Bermejo in minute 80.

Shortly after, the VAR annulled the equalized rayista by estimating a foul prior to Andrés Martín's shot to the net, so there was no time to modify the favorable score of Tenerife and leave Rayo without any prize despite the effort made.
