Tenerife GG will bring together the ‘gamers’ in the largest technological event in the Canary Islands

The event will take place from July 12 to 17 at the Recinto Ferial and at the Auditorio de Tenerife

The Tenerife GG, the largest event in the Canary Islands dedicated to video games, esports and technology and which is sponsored by the Cabildo de Tenerife and HiperDino, will bring together the best gamers from July 12 to 17 at the Recinto Ferial and the Auditorio de Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the organizers report in a statement.

The Councilor for Innovation of the Island Institution, Enrique Arriaga, highlighted the “decisive commitment” of the Cabildo de Tenerife for a technological event of “such quality” as the Tenerife GG, which will bring together guests, experts in esports and gaming, and will allow know the latest news in the sector.

In addition, Arriaga recalled that his area is working to promote and attract companies in the sector to establish themselves on the island and create jobs. “In the Science and Technology Park, professionals specialized in audiovisual creation, graphic design or software development and programming are trained. Expanding job profiles that allow young people to have new business and quality niches on the island. I am I am sure that esports and gaming will become key sectors on the island in the coming years,” he said.

For his part, HiperDino’s Director of Marketing and Communication, Carlos García, confessed that he is “very impatient” to start celebrating Tenerife GG and for attendees and the public to be able to enjoy an event that, due to its technical and production characteristics, , “seeks to be a benchmark, especially in the national and even international gaming world.”

“As promoters of the Canarian Esports League HiperDino we take another step in promoting this type of event.

I am sure that education, innovation, entrepreneurship, esports, sports and technology will be part of an unprecedented event for six days,” Garcia said.

With the motto ‘We gamers return home’, Tenerife GG will offer activities and content for all audiences, professional area and LAN.

GAMECON AND GAMEPRO, TWO LARGE DIFFERENT AREAS

Tenerife GG will have two large differentiated areas: a recreational one (GameCon) and a professional one (GamePro).

GameCon is the recreational area that will take place at the Fairgrounds, and will cover all esports content, with more than 50,000 euros in prizes and ‘meet&greet’ with content creators and ‘influencers’, in addition to the LAN area, which will have up to 2,000 seats and high connectivity internet 24 hours a day.

Visitors to GameCon will enjoy an area dedicated to K-Pop culture and fans, as well as a space called Hobby GG where they will have more than 150 tables with activities, retro arcade machines, board games and a family-children’s area in the that robotics can be learned thanks to the University of La Laguna.


GamePro will host the conferences of top-level national and international speakers such as Alistair Cockburn, one of the authors of the Agile Manifesto; Rocío Vidal, author of the scientific YouTube channel, Schroedinger’s Cat; Conchi Lillo, neurobiologist at USAL, and, among others, David Bonilla, CEO of the Manfred company.

One of the great attractions of GamePro is Indie GG, an area where independent video game development studios will present their projects to attendees and in which the talent of the best teams will be awarded. A space in which visitors to TGG will be able to learn about some of the best video game projects created in Spain.

On the other hand, Fórmate GG will have exclusive training sessions such as Unreal4Kids, a workshop focused on the Epic Games game engine and taught by David Carmona, an authorized Unreal Engine instructor.

Carmona is the only Canarian that has this official certification and one of the six in all of Spain.

With the support of Google’s ‘Women Techmakers’ and through several of its ambassadors, a round table will be held focused on the development communities and women in the technological world in order to expose possible solutions to the problems of the sector.

Likewise, the first edition of the Esports Business Live Awards will be held live and in a gala format, in which the excellence, work and social activism of professionals and organizations in the esports industry in Spain will be rewarded.

From this Wednesday the sale of visitor tickets is active, which can be purchased on a daily or weekly basis and which give access to all areas of the event, except the LAN area.

With the purchase of this ticket, all boys and girls under the age of ten will have free access to the venue, provided they are accompanied by an adult.
