The Los Angeles Rams had to win their game against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night.

Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford left a statement by beating the other team 30–22. Even though the score became close, it doesn’t really show who was better from beginning to end.

With a win, the Rams’ hopes of making the playoffs went above 70%. It would have been very hard for them to win if they had lost.

Instead, the Rams took care of issues and were in sixth place in the NFC going into the weekend. Here are ten things you can learn from the Rams’ win over the Saints.

Let’s go back to Week 4, when the Indianapolis Colts played the Rams. McVay chose to go for it on 4th and 3 on the game’s second play.

The team made a conversion and scored a touchdown, making the score 14-0. That choice helped the Rams get a handle on the game right away.

The same thing can be said about the first drive on Thursday night. McVay could have kicked an extra point on fourth-and-go from the two-yard line to put his team ahead. He played to win instead.

Matthew Stafford scored a touchdown when he found Puka Nacua down low. The Rams gained 3.6 victory percentage points and lost 11 win percent points because of that call. The Rams were ready for the game because of that play.

There was a score and 164 yards gained by Nacua on nine passes. He ran for 16 yards and picked off an onside kick as well. You picked Nacua in the fifth round of the draft. He has 96 catches over 1,327 yards.

With two games left, he has the chance to set NFL records for most catches and receiving yards by a start.

Last season, Miami Dolphins youngster Jaylen Waddle set a record by catching 104 passes. It was set by Bill Groman with the Houston Oilers in 1960, when he rushed for 1,473 yards.

Seven passes were caught by the veteran for 82 yards. One of them was for 32 yards to initiate a drive which ended with his 4-yard score.

Robinson has done a great job of finding room when quarterback Stafford’s extends plays outside the pocket.

Peace of mind In the third quarter, Jordan Fuller picked off a pass that led to a score and a 20-point lead for the Rams. Fuller caught the pass for the second time this season.

But the Rams gave upward costly big plays for their third game in a row. It cost them a loss to the Baltimore Ravens and almost cost them wins against the Washington Commandos and the Saints.

The Colts then cut him and put him back on the practice team. This season, he has been on both the squad that plays as well as the practice team.
