Take Kubo, with a derby spirit

The Mallorca visit this afternoon the Wanda Metropolitano And, to prepare for the game, the squad trained yesterday in Las Rozas. On Wednesday he played the Cup in Segovia and did not return to the island. Those of Luis García won 0-2 to the Gimnástica Segoviana, with a double by Ángel Rodríguez. In this first Cup match did not play any minute Take Kubo. Luis García Plaza already commented in the preview that the Japanese attacker could play between 45 and 60 minutes, although with nuances: “We will protect him because he comes from a knee injury. If the field is not in perfect condition, he will not play.” Against Atleti he is expected, we will see if in the eleven, in a match with a special touch for him.

Nevertheless, Take Kubo already played a few minutes in the second half of the last league game, against Getafe at the Visit Mallorca Estadi (0-0). The attacker had been off the pitch for two months. He was injured on September 22, precisely against his team, Real Madrid, who beat Mallorca 6-1.

Kubo is getting in the mood and this afternoon’s will be a special match for him. He is going to live his particular derby against Atlético. If the Japanese manages to score, he will do Real Madrid a great favor.

Since Take Kubo left Real Madrid on loan, the Japanese player He has faced Atlético de Madrid three times. In his first assignment to Mallorca, in the 2019-20 season, Kubo started both games. The vermilion team, led then by Vicente Moreno, lost both games: 0-2 at the Visit Mallorca Estadi and 3-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano, with a brace from Álvaro Morata and a goal from Koke.

Last season, Kubo played on loan to two teams, Villarreal and Getafe. During the first round he was in the yellow team. On the third day, Villarreal visited Wanda Metropolitano (0-0) and Kubo entered the final minutes of the match. In other words, the Japanese attacker already knows what it is to score in the rojiblanco stadium, although he has not yet scored a single goal against Simeone’s men.
