Switzerland-Lithuania started 15 minutes late … for a higher goal!

The match between Switzerland and Lithuania on Sunday, corresponding to the European qualification phase for the Qatar 2022 World Cup, left the most curious image of the day.

Its start was scheduled for 8:45 p.m., as were nine other international duels. Nevertheless, the start had to be delayed 15 minutes due to a goal.

The UEFA operators, during the routine inspection of the goals, noticed that the measures of the same were not correct. Indeed, the goal was ten centimeters higher than it should be (the length must be 2.44 meters).

Immediately, the 'staff' of St. Gallen who were in the Kybunpark, stadium that hosted the duelThey proceeded to remove the goal and replace it with another that did have the exact and legal measures.

After the surreal scene, the match could be played normally, certifying the victory of the Swiss team 1-0 thanks to the goal scored by Xherdan Shaqiri in minute 2.
