Swedish Simonsson, former Real Madrid player in the 60s, dies

Swedish Agne Simosson, Forward who played for Real Madrid in the early 1960s, died at 84, according to the Madrid club, which wishes to “express its condolences and affection to his family members.”

“Real Madrid CF, its president and its Board of Directors deeply regret the death, at 84 years of age, of Agne Simonsson, a Real Madrid player in the 1960-1961 and 1962-1963 seasons, in which the team won 1 Intercontinental Cup and 2 Leagues. Real Madrid wants to express its condolences and affection to their family, friends and loved ones. The club extends its condolences to all Real Madrid fans ”, is included in a statement.

Agne Simosson, Born in Gothenburg, on October 19, 1935, he played for Real Madrid and Real Sociedad, among others, participating with his team in a 1958 World Cup in Sweden where he lost in the final, against Brazil. After leaving football as a player, he became a coach, with Iraklis Thessaloniki being his last club.
