Survivor Asensio stands out at the Malaga party

In Malaga they needed a night like this. Such a soccer-loving city deserved a party like the one lived in The Rose Garden. The fans responded as soon as the match was announced and tickets went on sale. In 24 hours they are gone. In one day the 30,000 tickets flew.

And it was almost five years since the Spanish team had visited the Malaguista stadium. The last time was in November 2017, when La Roja thrashed a good Costa Rica with a hand (5-0). But how did everything change? Málaga since then. His soccer team, accustomed to fighting for European positions or making history for Europe, even reaching the quarterfinals of the Champions League, had the worst season in its history, finishing last and being relegated to the Second Division. And there he continues, fighting and suffering. Too much, because in this past course they have had to tie down their permanence.

not only changed Málaga. Also the selection. Lopetegui was relieved and Luis Enrique entered. In addition, not even five years have passed and of that team that beat Costa Rica in 2017 there are only four survivors, Jordi Alba, Busquets, Morata and Marco Asensio. In fact, the last two were headlines yesterday. The Real Madrid striker started from the start for the first time in this concentration and took advantage of the opportunity, one of the last that the coach offered him.

The footballer of Real Madrid, who had played his last international match in November 2020 against Germany, knew that his ticket to Qatar was largely due to taking advantage of Luis Enrique’s opportunity. At La Rosaleda he played on the right and got along perfectly with Carlos Soler. From his boots the 1-0 was born. He put his body to win a ball inside the area and it was given to his teammate.

The Balearic was active during the 72′ minutes he was on the green. He claimed a penalty at 1-0 when he was already facing the goal and gave another good ball to Carlos Soler who could not take advantage of it.

The stands thanked him for his effort and cheered him when he left the pitch. A good acknowledgment. He also applauded the technician. Asensio will have to decide his future well because his presence in Qatar will depend on what happens in the coming months.

At the same time, the fans vindicated their past shouting ‘Málaga, Málaga! and he remembered with melancholy better times that they hope will return soon. At least, in Palo, they still have the Pimpi Florida.
