'Succession', 'The Bear' and 'Beef' sweep the Emmy Awards: 'The Last Us', the big loser of the night

The Emmy Awards have crowned Succession y The Bear as the best series of the year in drama and comedy, respectively, with six statuettes each. In this way, they endorse last week's result at the Golden Globes, where these two productions were also elevated. Beeffor its part, was chosen the best miniseries of the year.

The 75th edition of the Emmy Awards, which were delivered four months late due to the actors' strike that paralyzed Hollywood, held few surprises. Succession It won six awards, including the most important of the night: best series, lead actress (Sarah Snook), leading actor (Kieran Culkin) and also won supporting performance for Matthew Macfadyen. Jennifer CoolidgeThe White Lotus) won as supporting actress and dedicated it “to all the evil gays”, thus recalling one of her most popular phrases in the series.

Thus, Succession It closes a brilliant career on television and collects all the most important awards of the season thanks to the last season that HBO Max premiered last year. In addition to the Emmys and the Golden Globes, the series also triumphed this Sunday at the Critics Choice Awards 2024. In the drama category, The Last of Uswhich was one of the big premieres of 2023, came out empty, despite having five nominations.

Con The Bear practically the same thing has happened as with Succession, although in this case it is a production that is booming. It has been going on for two seasons and what was being awarded now was the first. The comedy that Disney+ broadcasts in Spain swept its category and won over a series that usually imposed its dominance, Ted Lassowho left with nothing.
