Stuani: “I don’t think that Vinicius incites violence or that the rival has a bad gesture towards him”

MADRID, 28 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Girona’s Uruguayan striker, Christian Stuani, spoke about Vinicius Júnior and the controversy that has been generated around him and his behavior on the pitch, about which he thinks he does not believe “that he is inciting either violence or that the rival has a bad gesture towards him”.

“I think he is a player who has enormous quality, who is enjoying himself on the field, and I think that the times I’ve seen him I don’t think he’s inciting either violence or the rival having a bad gesture towards him. I think he is a player who is happy, who puts everything he has on the field and I see it as part of the game”, explained Stuani, who was present at the Marca Awards Gala.

The Uruguayan footballer also spoke about Spain’s victory against Portugal in the last minute in the League of Nations. “It was a hard-fought match and they achieved a very difficult classification. It is a team that has great players, great potential, and will be among the most important in the World Cup,” he assessed.

Christia Stuani also spoke about Iago Aspas, whom she considers “an excellent professional” and “a great player” with whom she has shared “many games against and situations for a long time”. “I think he is a magnificent player, I can only say that, and I hope we can continue to enjoy him in the Spanish league,” she added.

However, he did not want to get wet in his absence from the national team. “It’s not up to me to talk about the Spanish coach’s calls at all,” declared the Uruguayan international.

After winning the Pichichi Trophy of the last Smartbank League, Stuani was asked about the one in the top division and who could compete against Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. “You are seeing that Lewandowski is there, he is also a world reference and forwards who are also very good up there always appear,” he stressed.

Stuani was “very happy to receive last season’s Pichichi award”. The beginning of this course has not been easy for him, who is getting “in shape” after having suffered a benign cardiac arrhythmia.

“I am very well from the setbacks I have suffered and little by little I am feeling much better and my return is very close, thank God. As time goes by, it is forgotten. I think that now I have everything to be able to continue enjoying the league, football and the beautiful things in life”, declared the striker.

The footballer acknowledged that at first he came to fear for his sports career at first because “many things cross your mind”. “The first few days are the most difficult, but you quickly forget about it because the diagnosis was very good, I haven’t been in any danger and now what I have to do is continue enjoying football,” he assured.

Right now he is “forgetting that unexpected scare a bit” and very happy with how Girona has started in LaLiga Santander after promotion. “The team has started very well, we are competing very well and it is a great pride for us to enjoy ourselves with the greats again”, he concluded.
