Struff and Basilashvili to bid for the title in Germany

The German Jan-Lennard Struff, who will contest the first final of his career, and the Georgian Nikoloz Basilashvili, who had to carry out their quarter and semi-final commitments this Saturday, will bid for the title of the Munich tournament.

Basilashvili had an intense day. First he had to complete his duel against the Slovakian Norbet Gombos in the quarterfinals, which he won by a double 6-4, and then face the Norwegian Casper Ruud, who also had his third round clash against Australian John Millman (6-3 and 6-4) pending, also pending on Friday.

The Georgian beat Ruud hours later by 6-1 and 6-2, and reached the seventh final of his career in search of his fifth title, the second in 2021 after Doha.

Less work had in the session the German Jan-Lennard Struff, who fulfilled his only commitment in the order of play. He beat Belarusian Ilya Ivashka 6-4 6-1 to reach the first final of his career.
