Stoichkov and Sylla leave everything even for Mendizorroza

Eibar and Alavés tie in the first leg of the semifinal playoff

MADRID, 3 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Eibar and Deportivo Alavés drew (1-1) this Saturday at Ipurua, the first leg of the LaLiga SmartBank semifinal playoff for a ticket to the First Division, a very even assault, with even similar goals from Sylla and Stoichkov, which leaves everything open .

On Thursday in the return, Mendizorroza will decide the pass to the final that, on the other side, Levante and Albacete are looking for. Sylla put the visitors ahead after nine minutes, sending a throw-in ball into the net. Meanwhile, on another throw-in just before the break, Stoichkov did a scorpion of sorts to tie.

The clash thus had two well differentiated parts. Luis García Plaza’s men took over the first half with that early goal, while the locals boiled over with the tremendous resource of a Stoichkov who, until then, had not appeared.

The 1-1 was just before the break, a blow to morale for an Eibar that, with changes in addition, took a more determined step towards the game. Gaizka Garitano’s men had the second especially with Jon Bautista but lost control with the expulsion of Arbilla.

Two yellow cards in just 10 minutes that reduced the courage of the armorer team, forced to put away their clothes without giving one last push to their local status. Alavés, despite a great Luis Rioja, did not know how to take advantage of their superiority either, trusting their options to play the second round at home.
