Spotify Camp Nou until 2043

Mundo Deportivo, through information signed by Fernando Polo, reveals and cuts up this Thursday the confidential numbers of the agreement between Barça and Sportify that the Barça club made official last Tuesday afternoon nothing beyond the fact that the Swedish firm would be stamped on the shirts of the men’s and women’s first teams, respectively, until 2026.

The agreement includes that the Barcelona stadium be renamed Spotity Camp Nou and, although the figures should be made official at the Assembly of committing partners set for April 3, Mundo Deportivo goes ahead and announces that Sportify will pay 30 million, at five per year, for a contract of six seasons in principle, which could also be extended fifteen more years, until 2043in which Barça could charge between 15 and 20 million per course (by that date, it is expected that the work of the Stadium will be completed). Spority could have included the possibility of reselling the naming rights of the Barça stadium, which plans to start work this summer. It must be taken into account, moreover, that Barça will play at Montjuïc for at least one season, 2023-24, although the period could be extended.

The information also confirms figures that were in the fan’s ideology. Spotify will pay 57.5 million per season for the men’s and women’s first team jerseys, respectively, for three years. The music reproduction company will also pay 20 million over the next four years, at a rate of 5 million per season. Spotify wanted to keep a resale option for the advertising of the shirt but, unlike with the naming of the Camp Nou, Barça refused to prevent the Barça shirt from being worn by firms that go against the club’s values.
