Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz conquers Roland Garros, his third ‘Grand Slam’

MADRID, 9 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz was proclaimed champion of Roland Garros after beating the German Alexander Zverev in five sets in the final, 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2, thus achieving the third Grand Slam’ of his record on a new surface, king of the land after showing off the last two years at the US Open and Wimbledon.

The 21-year-old from Murcia, the youngest in history to reach the finals on all three surfaces, demonstrated once again that he was made for glory on a Sunday of maximum tension at the Philippe Chatrier against a Zverev who, after winning in Rome was at its best. Alcaraz suffered especially in the third set but recovered his game in time to start his own story in Paris.

Territory of Rafa Nadal, a 14-time champion who could not go far because he met the German in the first round, the Musketeers Cup was taken by another Spaniard, an Alcaraz who has always been destined to succeed the legend of the Balearic Islands. With his third ‘great’ in the last three years without failure in the finals, the one from El Palmar once again showed quality, head and tennis for a while.
