Spanish sinking in Champions: without teams in semis since 2007

The Final 8 in Lisbon has made Spain bad, as there will be no Spanish representative in the semifinals of the Champions League. After the painful defeats of Atlético and from Barcelona (2-8) versus Red Bull Leipzig already Bayern Munich, respectively, the Spanish teams are left with no chance of winning the 19th Orejona and what is more serious, shows a step back from Spanish football compared to other championships.

Record in the 1999-2000 season

It has not always been bad news for us. The highest quota of Spanish clubs in the semifinals occurred in the 1999-2000 campaign when three teams reached the semifinal round. Germany reaches 9 semi-finalists, pOr the 5 from Italy, the 2 from France and one from the Netherlands.
