The Spanish midfielder Borja Valero announced his retirement from football on Wednesday, At 36 years old, after a long career in big clubs, the last Italian Fiorentina, leaving the Real Madrid quarry.
“The moment that always seems distant has come, to stop playing football. I would have liked to do it under the crowded 'Fiesole' but unfortunately in football as in life not everything depends on us”, he said on his Instagram account.
Valero did not renew with the 'Fiore', a club that this same Wednesday announced Vincenzo Italiano as its new coach, and ended a long career that took him to Real Madrid, Mallorca, West Bromwich Albion, Villarreal, Inter Milan and Fiorentina.
“I thank all the teams that I had the honor to play for. Thank you also to the many coaches and teammates.” he adds, also showing affection to his family, friends and fans of Fiorentina, a club he arrived in 2012 and was in two stages since he went to Inter in between.
