The Spanish table tennis player María Xiao secured the bronze medal at the European Championship on Wednesday, which is being played in Munich, after reaching the semifinals in the doubles category together with the Romanian Adina Diaconu.
Xiao, who narrowly missed the podium in the mixed doubles, got even with a hard-fought win against the German tandem: Sabine Winter and Nina Maittelham, 3-1, which gives her license to fight this Thursday for the final and the most precious metal.
