MADRID, 1 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s rugby seven team will face South Africa to remain in the World Series after finishing third in the group stage of the HSBC SVNS in Madrid, while the men’s team, second, will do so against Canada.

In the second half, Japan took the ball and the shots of Tsutsumi and Hirano made the final score 26-14, leaving the Asians second and Spain third. With this result, The ‘Leonas7s’ will face South Africa (3:32 p.m.), second in Group B, for a place in the HSBC SVNS for the 2024-25 season. In total, they have faced the Africans four times in these Series – two wins and two losses.

For their part, the pupils of Paco Hernández and Matías Tudela closed the group stage with three victories in three games. To Friday’s victories against Chile (29-12) and against Kenya (10-5), Spain has added its third victory with a solid 31-0 against Samoa.
