Spain will face Australia and Great Britain in the United Cup

MADRID, 10 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Tennis players Rafa Nadal and Paula Badosa will lead Spain in the first edition of the United Cup, the mixed competition between 18 national teams that will be played in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth (Australia) from December 29 to January 8 and in which will also play the world number one, the Polish Iga Swiatek.

The Spanish team will be made up, apart from Nadal and Badosa, by Pablo Carreño, Albert Ramos, David Vega, Nuria Parrizas and Jessica Bouzas, reports the ATP on its official website.

The first 16 participating countries have been announced this Thursday and the remaining two will be made public on November 21. Greece, led by Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari, is the number one seed.

The rest are Poland, the United States, Italy, France, Australia, Croatia, Switzerland, Germany, Brazil, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Argentina and Norway.

Spain is in Group D alongside hosts Australia, with Wimbledon finalist Nick Kyrgios, and Great Britain, led by Cameron Norrie.

The competition consists of two singles matches and a mixed doubles. Each city will host two groups and the three winners of each of them will access the semifinals, and the fourth will be the one with the best balance.
