The couple formed by Sofía Val and Asaf Kazimov will finally compete in the Ice Dance modality at the European Figure Skating Championships next year, while Olivia Smart and Tim Dieck will do so at the World Cup, as reported this Wednesday by the Royal Spanish Federation of Ice Sports (RFEDH).
In this way, the organization changes its first decision a few weeks ago when it indicated, based on its selection criteria, that Sofía Val and Asaf Kazimov would be its representatives in both appointments, and leaving no room for Olivia Smart and Tim Dieck, who were proclaimed champions of Spain on December 17 in Logroño ahead of the other duo.
“This decision has the acceptance of all the parties involved, to whom the RFEDH would like to thank their understanding and cooperation, in addition to providing all their support for their proper preparation for the upcoming international challenges,” the federative entity stated on its website. .
In addition, the RFEDH warned that “it will review the classification criteria that were communicated at the time, for which it will form a committee of experts to advise on the creation of transparent, fair criteria that leave no room for interpretation.”
