The champion makes the contact and first training session at her World Cup headquarters

The Spanish men’s basketball team completed a first day of acclimatization in Jakarta, its headquarters for the 2023 World Cup in which it debuts on Saturday against the Ivory Coast, already testing the Indonesia Arena court where it will seek a pass to the quarterfinals.
Sergio Scariolo’s men did not take long to get down to work after their trip to Indonesia, host of the World Cup together with the Philippines and Japan. Spain defends the title achieved four years ago from a Group G that it shares with the Ivory Coast, Brazil and Iran.
The champion and number one in the FIBA ranking completed her first training session in a pavilion with a capacity for 16,000 people, the track where she will hope to advance to the second phase, against the winners of Group H with France, Canada, Latvia and Lebanon, and achieve the pass the crosses that will be played in Manila.
After the debut against the Africans, on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. (peninsular time), the European champion will face Brazil (Monday 28) and Iran (Wednesday 20) at the same time. Scariolo’s 12 are captain Rudy Fernández, Víctor Claver, Sergio Llull, Willy Hernangómez, Juancho Hernangómez, Álex Abrines, Darío Brizuela, Joel Parra, Alberto Díaz, Usman Garuba, Juan Núñez and Santi Aldama.
