Spain scores seven goals against the Czech Republic and advances to the semifinals of the U19 Women’s European Championship

MADRID, 24 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish under-19 soccer team thrashed the Czech Republic 7-0 this Monday, with an outstanding performance by forward Carla Camacho, during the 3rd day of the women’s European Championship in the category, which is being played in Belgium.

At the Den Dreef Stadion in Leuven, the players coached by Sonia Bermúdez cleared up some generated by their defeat against France the previous day. Thus, they scored seven goals for the Czech Republic after a great first half of the game.

Carla Camacho opened the account in minute 4, following a great individual play by Laia Martret. Her handling of the ball, from the right lane inwards, culminated in a filtered pass for Olaya Enrique to finish off with a low stretch.

Although the rival goalkeeper came out well at Enrique’s feet, Camacho was attentive to push the rebound into the back of the net. The 2-0 was the work of Martret herself as soon as the 12th minute was over, taking advantage of a run by Lucia Corrales to the end line and pass back.

Shortly after, Fiamma Benítez made it 3-0 on the scoreboard with a header from Corrales’ cross from the left. Before the break, Camacho achieved his double with the involuntary help of goalkeeper Zuzana Kozurikova, who did not catch a shot from the omnipresent Corrales and left the rebound in favor of the mustacheadora scoring.

Érika González did the ‘hand’ in minute 73, with a low shot from the edge of the area that stumbled into a Czech defense to divert the trajectory towards goal. The sixth was scored by Lucía ‘Wifi’ Moral in the 78th minute, in the middle of the small area and benefiting from a racket at the exit of a corner.

Kozurikova, trying to clear a chip from ‘Wifi’, scored the final 7-0 in stoppage time. This triumph ensured Spain second place in Group B (with six points) and access to the semifinals, where they will play against the Netherlands; As an added prize, they also qualified to play in the next U-20 World Cup.
