MADRID, 2 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish archery team experienced a bad day this Wednesday in the World Cup that is taking place in Berlin when the men’s, women’s and mixed recurve archery teams were left out.
Spain had the great challenge of achieving a good result in the German capital, in the vicinity of the mythical Berlin Olympic Stadium, and, above all, qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
However, after beating Canada (6-0) and Greece (6-2) in the first round, both the men’s and women’s teams fell in the round of 16. Pablo Acha, Andrés Temiño and Miguel Alvariño lost in the tiebreaker by a single point against Turkey, while Elia Canales, Leyre Fernández and Irati Unamunzaga lost against hosts Germany 5-1.
Later, the mixed team made up of Pablo Acha and Elia Canales lost in the first round against the Kazakhstan couple.
