Pascual Saurín’s men concede their third defeat in three games against Slovakia

The Spanish women’s volleyball team lost this Saturday against Slovakia with a resounding 3-0 on the third day of the European Championship that is taking place in Tallinn (Estonia), a three out of three defeats that greatly complicates their path.
Spain was left without a margin of error in Group D with the defeat against a direct rival, after the previous defeats against the Netherlands and France. The one this Saturday left worse feelings, against a superior rival, effective in reception and forceful in attack (25-27, 26-24, 25-17).
The ‘Leonas’, who will rest this Sunday and will play on Monday against Finland, did not have a good day from the first set, already complicated with an 8-2. Karin Sunderlikova was the best Slovak from the start at the Unibet Arena in Tallinn.
Spain reacted in the second set, tied until halfway, but the great Slovak blocking and forcefulness in attack made it 2-0 against Saurin’s men. The points from Lucía Varela and Julia de Paula were insufficient for a Spain that could not avoid its third defeat in a European Championship that was complicated in the first phase, forced to beat Finland and Estonia to reach the round of 16.
