Spain resolves a procedure before Israel
MADRID, 7 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish women's water polo team has successfully defeated Israel (22-7) on the second day of the European Championship in Eindhoven (Netherlands), a competition in which it defends its double crown, a result that continues the victory signed in the debut against France (17-8), and will seek the leadership of the group and direct access to the quarterfinals this Sunday against Italy (5:00 p.m.).
A 5-2 run at the end of the first quarter put the duel back on track for Miki Oca's team, who tried to control her players ahead of the momentous match against the transalpine team. The 10-5 lead at the long break, with three goals from Forca, offered peace of mind to the Spanish team, who however did not let up in the following minutes.
The continental champion added up to eight goals in the third period, and a final 4-0 run increased the lead, all in a perfect match in attack by Bea Ortiz (5 of 5 in shots) and with four goals from Paula Camus.
