Spain receives 22 new tickets in swimming and increases its athletes to 63 at the Paris Paralympic Games

MADRID, 16 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spain has received 22 new places in the swimming category at the Paris Paralympic Games this coming summer after the publication this Friday of the distribution of the quota corresponding to the world proration system by the International Federation.

As reported by the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE), these new tickets join the nine achieved by the medalists at the Manchester World Cup last year in 2023 and leave the Spanish presence at 31 participants, in the absence of any possible invitation from the Bipartite Commission .

Now, to qualify for these places, Spanish swimmers must accredit a minimum A mark established by the CPE and which Nuria Marquès, Toni Ponce, Íñigo Llopis, Anastasiya Dmytriv, Nahia Zudaire, Berta García, Marta Fernández and María Delgado already have. .

On the other hand, minimum B, which only gives access to the Games in case the quota is not filled with minimum A, is held by Luis Huerta, Jacobo Garrido, Sarai Gascón, José Antonio Marí, Beatriz Lérida, Teresa Perales, Iván Salguero, Álex Villarejo, Albert Gelis, Marian Polo, Enrique Alambra and Daniel Ferrer. The deadline to accredit these brands ends on June 16.

In addition to swimming, Spain also already has a place for these Paris 2024 Paralympic Games in men's wheelchair basketball, athletics, canoeing, cycling, taekwondo, shooting and archery to now add a total of 12 athletes.
