The Spanish, Portuguese and Moroccan Football Federations held several meetings this Wednesday to continue with the work of their candidacy for the 2030 World Cup and agreed to present the letter of intent to FIFA at the end of this month, one of the steps to make their acceptance official. to organize the event.

As indicated by the RFEF in a statement, the presidents of the three federations, Pedro Rocha, Fernando Gomes and Fouzi Lekjaa, met at the headquarters of the Portuguese entity and decided that they will present this document, one of the requirements of the application process, the Next October 28 in Rabat.

This letter is considered the first formal step towards the joint candidacy and will demonstrate the commitment of Morocco, Portugal and Spain to organize “a successful World Cup”, and after it, the three leaders will offer a press conference.

This meeting has been the second that the three countries have held, after the one held in Las Rozas (Madrid) last September, the first after learning that they were chosen to organize the 2030 World Cup, and in it they have also continued worked “to continue preparing the candidacy that unites two continents and that aspires to be the best in history for a World Cup,” noted the RFEF.

At the same time, the Bid Committee for the 2030 World Cup continued its work and, also this Wednesday, but in Madrid, held a new meeting to monitor the status of the project.
